What are the benefits of Zygomatic Implants?

What are zygomatic implants & who is this treatment for?

These are implants that are designed specifically for patients who have severe bone
loss in the upper jaw. Many times these patients are extremely crippled or
compromised both functionally and aesthetically by the fact that they’re even
unable to wear a complete upper denture because they have such little amounts of
bone in their upper jaw. This can either happen because of premature tooth loss at a
very young age or because of surgeries that were necessary to remove tumours or
other lesions in their upper jaw.

 

 

Fortunately, Dr. P I Branemark in 1998 published on the technique of the zygomatic
implant. And I’m very happy to tell you that we at Seaforth Oral Surgery as a team
are able to offer this treatment for our patients. We found that it dramatically
enhances a patient’s quality of life by restoring their function and form and allowing
them to eat the foods that they enjoy eating and to function and interact with their
families in a confident manner by being able to speak and eat and express
themselves with a smile.
