What is a Full-Smile Treatment?

As we mention in our blog post “Can you transform your smile in a day”, a Full-Smile Treatment is designed for patients who have severe dental issues requiring the replacement of a whole set of teeth along the upper and/or lower jaw. A specific number of dental implants are placed along the jaw bone to give you a full set of teeth.

How does it only take a day?

Since the full-arch is implanted as one unit, this denture replacement treatment uses a limited number of dental implants to lock into place instead of one for each tooth. This is a huge time-saver. Typically, you are sedated, we perform the dental implant procedure and then you wait in the recovery room as the anesthesia wears off before heading home with a new smile. This first round of teeth is temporary, but functions perfectly; come back in six months for your permanent chompers.

Am I too old? Are my teeth too damaged?

Absolutely not! Regardless of your age or the number of missing teeth, most people can safely receive dental implants. Book an appointment at Seaforth Oral Surgery for a consultation to be absolute ‘dent-sure’!

Will it hurt?

At Seaforth Oral Surgery, we strive to make all procedures as painless as possible. We offer a comfortable environment as well as your choice of local anesthesia or IV sedation. With IV sedation, you won’t feel anything during your Full-Smile Treatment.

How long is the recovery period?

You likely won’t have much discomfort beyond swelling and may not even need pain medication after your Full-Smile Treatment. That said, it differs and depends on the patient. It’ll be a soft food diet for a few weeks while your dental implants heal, then you can eat whatever forever — no more worrying about dentures!

Will my dental implants look like real teeth?

Yes, which is why a Full-Smile Treatment is such a great permanent denture replacement option. Our titanium dental implants adhere to your jaw to look and function exactly like your natural teeth. Brush, bite and beam your smile to your heart’s desire — nobody will know your secret.

Are these denture replacements expensive?

Advances in technologies and techniques have made Full-Smile Treatments much less costly in recent years, however, you may want to schedule a consultation with our team to review financing, insurance and payment plan options. We are here to help and want to see you smiling!

Can I bring someone for support?

Please do. We encourage you to bring a friend or family member to help you relax before and after the Full-Smile Treatment, and we promise you will want to show off that new grin to someone!
